The headframe is the last vestige from the dismantling of the Sabatier pit (1912-1980). Dating from 1951, it comes from pit no. 1-1bis of the Clarence of the Bruay-Auchel Group and was brought up to pit no. 2 of the Sabatier pit in 1955, Valenciennes Group. It is a pyramidal headframe, made of solid web beams equipped with four sheers (struts). It has two bearings for its two superimposed wheels six meters in diameter. In this environment with deceptive appearances, the imposing headframe reminds walkers that this wooded landscape has, in reality, been entirely shaped by intense industrial activity.
