Planches & Sabots - Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride in the Heart of the Arenberg Mining Site - The Gateway to Hainaut. Discover the Arenberg Mining Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in a unique way with a guided horse-drawn carriage ride. Explore the rural and mining heritage... and sample local flavors! Comfortably seated in a carriage pulled by majestic Northern Draft horses, embark on an hour-long journey through the Mining Site and the mining town. Along the way, anecdotes and insights into the heritage will be shared... in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere! On the menu: • Appetizer platter (local charcuterie and cheeses) • One drink: craft beer or local apple juice Dates: Sundays, August 2nd and 23rd, 2026 Departure: Tourist Office reception, Arenberg Mining Site - La Porte du Hainaut (Wallers-Arenberg) Duration: 1 hour – Please arrive 15 minutes before departure Maximum 12 people per departure Self-guided, narrated walk Online booking required (no tickets sold on site) The walk will only be held if at least 5 people are registered. Confirmation of the walk will be given 48 hours in advance.
