European Heritage Days 2026 in Abscon For European Heritage Days, Abscon offers two events on Sunday, September 20, 2026, to discover the village, its history, and its heritage. In the morning – The Gaillettes Trail of Abscon Starting at 9:30 a.m., explore Abscon through a fun 4 or 5.5 km trail that crosses six neighborhoods of the town. Along the way, discover the history of Abscon as well as its human, mining, industrial, and agricultural heritage through various games and activities. A walk to share with family or friends, at your own pace. Registration from September 1 to 10 at the Acacias Cultural Center. Departures possible from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Trail designed by Laurence Delporte and Caroline Mik. Afternoon – Exhibition “Abscon, a History to Pass On” From 2 pm to 6 pm, the Community Center hosts an exhibition dedicated to Marc Cachera and his work collecting and passing on the memory of Abscon. Photographs, documents, testimonies, and elements of local history will allow visitors to discover the village's heritage and memory through an exhibition focused on intergenerational transmission.
