Thermal Baths and Forest Through the Lens – European Heritage Days 2026 For the 2026 European Heritage Days, themed Heritage in Peril: Reviving, Resisting, Reinventing, discover the Saint-Amand-les-Eaux Thermal Baths and the Raismes-Saint-Amand-Wallers National Forest from a fresh perspective. Using photographs and archival documents, this tour invites you to trace the evolution of this iconic site: from the origins of the thermal baths, established on a former marshy area with recognized therapeutic properties, to the renowned spa center we know today. The exploration continues in the national forest to understand the challenges related to preserving this exceptional natural area, recognized in particular through the Natura 2000 and Ramsar designations and its integration into the Scarpe-Escaut Regional Natural Park.
