On Friday, May 29, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., the Denain Museum presents a poetry reading dedicated to the discovery of a poet from Denain, sponsored by Léopold Sédar Senghor at the French Poets Society. Led by Nicolas Minair of the French Poets Society, this event will highlight an award-winning author who was a contemporary of several renowned poets. The reading will be presented alongside works from the museum's collection, focusing on the world of steelmaking and mining, and echoing the work of Jules Mousseron. Several poems in Rouchi—the Picard dialect of the Valenciennes region—will also be performed. This cultural and heritage event offers an opportunity to discover local poetry and the memory of the area. Free admission with reservation: +33 3 74 85 96 02 or [email protected]
