The 3rd edition of European Union Week in Hainaut will take place from May 11th to 23rd, 2026 (with a before at school program from April 27th to May 12th)! This is another opportunity to (re)discover the work of the European Union through more than 20 events in the Valenciennes and Sambre-Avesnois regions! There are a variety of opportunities for all audiences and local stakeholders: free exhibitions, webinars, a treasure hunt, educational workshops, a potluck dinner, visits to EU-funded sites, and more. All these events are free! Among them: Friday, May 15th at 6:00 PM – Film screening and discussion on EU values at the Megarama Cinema, 2 rue de Villars, 59220 Denain. Free screening of the animated film FLOW, the cat who wasn't afraid of water, winner of the LUX 2025 European Film Award. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience. Summary: A little black cat wakes up in a world flooded by water where all human life seems to have vanished. He finds refuge on a boat with other animals. Cooperating with them proves to be a huge challenge... much bigger than overcoming his fear of water! They will all have to learn to help each other and overcome their differences to adapt to the new world around them.
