Nicolas Desmoutiers founded the spa town's first earthenware factory there. Many factories followed, contributing to the town's reputation throughout the country. This artisanal tradition continues and still inspires creators today. The Abbey Tower Museum hosts a 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗲́𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲 with the works of 𝗦𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗺 and 𝗪𝗮𝗰𝗾'𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂, presented alongside creations of 𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘆, a 20th-century ceramic sculptor, who created some of his pieces at the famous Faïencerie du Moulin-des-Loups.
