The Abbey Tower exhibits 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗺𝗲, from October 26 to December 22, 2024 Free tours and workshops 𝗟𝗮 𝗱𝗲́𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝘂 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀 The 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀: 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁-𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗹𝗲𝘀-𝗘𝗮𝘂𝘅 𝗮̀ 𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 The tear of time is an invitation to travel through History, through peeled and torn posters. As a sociologist and analyst of his time, the artist 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗺𝗲 offers us a retrospective of his works by addressing issues as varied as art, politics, environmental problems, without forgetting to pay tribute to the city of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and some of its emblematic figures (Louise de Bettignies, Queen Suzanne...). His initial approach, in the vein of Villéglé, has evolved over time towards a work of composition, construction, full of energy and sensations. Superimposing several layers of posters that he sometimes creates for the occasion, he tears off, tears, sticks, cutting into the thickness of the pictorial material, because for him, [his] brush is the poster! The exhibition will be on display from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Abbey Tower Museum, located on the Grand'Place. Free self-guided and guided tours are possible every Wednesday and Friday from 2pm to 5pm; Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 6pm. Groups can also book outside of these slots by calling 𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 at 03 74 58 01 70. Free workshops are offered to the public on October 29 and 31, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm and from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Young and old alike will be able to learn the art of tearing. To find out more, just send an email to musees@saint-amand-les-eaux.fr Photography © Maxime Dufour
