Portraits of Women and Colors by Monique Bruyelle In March, the Tourist Office of La Porte du Hainaut is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Monique Bruyelle on the theme Portraits of Women and Colors. An anthology of works made in oil, watercolor, acrylic or pastel, to discover during the month of Women! The entrance is free ! A palette of adopted Amandine styles, from Vendée, Monique Bruyelle exhibits a selection of twenty-three paintings at the Tourist Office of La Porte du Hainaut until March 31. The common thread is Woman, the month of March requires. Self-taught painter since her youth, Monique Bruyelle speaks of her passion with great emotion and modesty. She remembers her childhood and her beginnings in painting, with her sister Suzanne. Later, she will take lessons in the Almond school with Cécile Rogez. Since 2014, she continues to evolve in her art within the group of artists Le Carré d'Art, with Francine Barbe, Bernard Lottiaux and Jacques Heslon, the latter two having exhibited in 2019 at the Tourist Office. Monique Bruyelle appreciates sharing experiences between artists. She expresses herself with different techniques, oil painting, watercolor, acrylic or pastel. Among his favorite subjects, the plural woman, with her emotions, interests him particularly. This exhibition, currently visible at the Tourist Office, is the opportunity for Monique Bruyelle to unveil a palette of portraits of women very different in their styles. The public will recognize different influences, notably Impressionism, Cubism and Fauvism. “The lady with the hat” is, for example, inspired by the fawn painter Kees Van Dongen. Most of his paintings reflect the cheerful temperament of Monique Bruyelle. Very sensitive to bright tones, the composition of his paintings plays on both colors and materials. His artistic approach rests above all on his imagination born from his workshop in Mortagne-du-Nord. She delivers an eclectic exhibition here. Closed Monday and Sunday all day, as well as Thursday morning.
