As part of the European Heritage Days 4.5 km pedestrian walk Between the two wars, the golden age of the Round Basin Contrary to its name, the Round Basin is rectangular! It was created to develop a connection between the Scheldt and the Sensee. This is a place where mariners liked to meet. French and Belgian ships sometimes waited six to ten days for the crossing of the Iwuy lock (a town near Cambrai). In this gathering place, the grocers, the brewers but also the estaminets were numerous. The atmosphere was cheerful.
